A methodology table is plotted after every field trip. It helps us to reflect on the day's work and effectively learn from our experience. The table is usually divided into four columns.

They are variable, method and limitations and evaluations. Under the method column, we are supposed to write what we did and how we did it and why we did it that way. For limitations we are to pen down the things that prevented us from getting a 100% perfect data. Under evaluations we are to suggest ways to make going about doing our measuring etc more efficient. An example is given below.

variable: width of river
Method: -pull the measuring tape from one bank to the other
- tape must be held tightly to prevent it from being bent by the water current as this provides an inaccurate reading
- made sure that the people at each end were in line to obtain an accurate reading
- difficulty faced due to plants, one end being deep and one bank being high
- had to repeat as reading was inaccurate
Limitations and evaluations: - human error
- too much vegetation
-repeat to ensure accuracy
