Reflections Day 4 - Group 1 - Xin Yu and Sarah

IT'S 9.22PM BUT IT'S STILL BRIGHT!
For breakfast, we were yet again allowed to order what we wanted for breakfast. This clearly shows the importance they place in breakfast. The bacon was very salty. The fruits are very fresh (tomatoes, bananas, apples, oranges) just like the fruits at OAC2010! As usual, we packed our packed lunches and we set off for theory studying for coasts, and after that we headed to Naze at Walton for our coastal studies.

There was sudden change of temperature, though we were informed, we were caught by surprise by the strong winds. The place gave off a strong smell of family, the town was very cosy, in the sense that it was heartwarming. So we did our coastal studies on the managed site of the land, and the unmanaged site respectively.

Due to the hightide, we were faced with time constraint problems. Within the short timeframe of less than 1h 30min, we had to complete 5 different types of measurements - beach height, sediment weighing (twice), percolation rate (twice).

Teamwork was a necessity, and we had to split the work evenly. With our efficiency (not bragging), we completed our work quickly!(: we took many group photos on the way, it was fairly memorable.

After we completed our recordings at the managed site, we stayed there to consume our packed lunches and we had as inpromptu sandcastle building competition.

Within just 25 minutes, we were allowed to shop around the area. Most of us bought fish&chips from the local store and some souvenirs. THEY WERE AWESOME.

Back to the centre, we continued with theory work and sketched the beach profile on a HUGE graph paper.

Besides happy stuff, we were reminded that this was our last night at flatford. We would like to thank our teachers there: Rachael Moss, Helena, the cooks and everyone else.

It's not goodbye but goodnight!(:
